1964 1/2 MUSTANG COUPE

My second Mustang. I bought this one in 1987 from my uncle in Denver. This car used to be a six cylinder car, it had four lug drums in front. Somebody converted it to a 289 2 barrel V8, C-4 automatic and 8" rear end. The rear had five lugs. The engine and drive train must have been from 1967 or later car because the rear axle was about two inches too wide for the car. The rear end fit using air shocks and 195 tires, nothing bigger would fit. The rear end had  4.11 gears and traction lock. This thing really moved off the line. After about 50 feet, though, the tired old 2 barrel 289 and single exhaust kind of ran out of steam! The only things I did to this car was fix the few things that needed to be fixed. I replaced the points with a Mallory electronic trigger after the points died and stranded us in a snow storm in eastern Colorado on the way home to Illinois after purchasing it!

I sold this car in 1988 after I found the 1967 Fastback. Should have kept it! Imagine this with a 351W, Tremec....
